At the rear of the house is a quiet peaceful yard with a giant avocado tree creating a protective canopy over most of the back yard. A BBQ which is connected to the town natural gas supply sits snugly under the awning at the back door, so you can cook on it even when it is raining, effectively extending the kitchen cooking facilities.

The kitchen was renovated in 1998 with a polished Arctic Pine timber floor, an island workbench and ample cupboard space. The kitchen features Tasmanian Oak cupboard doors.
